Tourel Film is a young company based in Berlin, formed in 2004 by three up and coming players of German cinema: Elmar Fischer, Tobias Kniebe and Ursula Pfriem.

They made a name for themselves in Germany with their award-winning first feature, THE FRIEND, and are now set to take development and production of their projects into their own hands.

All three associates are bringing considerable knowledge and experience to the company. Elmar Fischer is an established director and producer in film and television, Tobias Kniebe is a well-known writer and story consultant, Ursula Pfriem has worked extensively as a line producer and production executive.

Tourel Film’s mission is to develop and produce contemporary, edgy and sophisticated cinema that entertains and sometimes challenges with unsettling and politically charged subject matter. Upmarket entertainment with artistic vision but nevertheless developed with a clear eye towards the needs and possibilities of the marketplace.

Tourel Film’s first project will be TANIA LA GUERRILLERA, the true story of Tamara Bunke, a Sixties revolutionary and comrade in arms of Ernesto Che Guevara. For this, Tourel Film plans to team up with a bigger production partner.
